Project Background
--------------------------
The initial project was created by Ano Tisam a local developer based in Rarotonga in 2009 as a proof of concept. By early 2010 and based on positive feedback from friends and family an early version of the website was made freely available online.
Based on the success of this early version a partnership was struck up with the Cook Islands Internet Action Group (https://www.ciiag.org) with support from the University of the South Pacific. In 2013 the project applied for and was awarded an international innovation grant by ISIF.Asia, one of 13 successful applicants from a field of more than 300. The funding was used to re-vamp the technical infrastructure of the project to be able to support mobile versions of the website as well as create educational resources around the mobile apps and websites to support learning. International Research: DECI-2 project
--------------------------------------------------
The project has also been chosen for DECI-2, an international research (https://isif.asia/CBF_UFE_ResComMentoring) which aims to find better ways to design and implement both evaluation and communications strategies for Internet Development projects and is currently in the process of completing work on that project
